Neuropsychology assessment

In-depth understanding of your memory concerns

What is a neuropsychological assessment?

A neuropsychological assessment provides a deep understanding of a person’s cognitive function, identifying areas of brain functioning most affected by memory loss, and includes a personalized treatment plan tailored to the individual’s needs.

These assessments can offer additional information that can aid in diagnosis when a person has multiple possible causes of memory symptoms, such as concussion and traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, mood-related disorders, and rarer forms of dementia. The detailed assessments performed by a neuropsychologist provide a greater understanding of how various parts of the brain are functioning. In some cases, the results of the neuropsychological assessment may inform insurance decisions and determine the ability to return to work.

Plum Tree Memory Care is pleased to offer abbreviated neuropsychological assessments for adults through our partnership with Medical Psychotherapy.

What is an abbreviated neuropsychological assessment?

An abbreviated neuropsychological assessment gathers only the most essential information about cognitive functioning, minimizing the time and resources required compared to a full assessment. While full neuropsychological assessments often require one to two days of in-office testing, our abbreviated assessments typically only take three to four hours. Our assessments are customized for adults and older adults.
